1920 is a series of Indian horror films. The story is written by Vikram Bhatt, for all three films in the series. The first film released in 2008 is directed by Vikram Bhatt, the second film released in 2012 is directed by Bhushan Patel and the third film directed by Tinu Suresh Desai released in 2016. The first two films were commercially successful at the box office, while the third film did moderately well. In 2018, a spin-off film, called 1921 was released. This was the first film in a new franchise by creator Vikram Bhatt.[1]

Films
1920 (2008)
The year is 1920 and the house isolated in the wilderness has a secret. It is waiting for the curse to come true. For years everyone who has bought the house and tried to pull it down has died under strange circumstances. It is like the house has a will and a life of its own.
Arjun Singh Rathore (Rajneesh Duggal) and his wife Lisa Singh Rathore (Adah Sharma) move into the house. He has been given the task of pulling it down and making a hotel there. The house has been waiting for them. The curse has come true. The haunting begins.
Lisa is more the victim of the haunting than Arjun. Strange and inexplicable events start taking place. The house has secrets that make enemies of the couple. They begin to doubt each other. Lisa begin to confide in the priest and Arjun has a friend who is a doctor. None of them can solve the problems between the husband and wife.
The house watches as the game of death begins between the couple. The curse say they will not survive. The only thing they have that is true is the love they once shared. They will have to depend on the love and faith they had if they are to come out of this alive.
1920: Evil Returns (2012)
Jaidev Varma (Aftab Shivdasani), poet, rich man and devastated by a love he had lost. He lived the life of an alcoholic, wondering what his mission in life might be. Then one day he finds a young girl (Tia Bajpai) washed up on a lake shore. He brought her home to learn that she had no memory and then he learned that she had brought an evil spirit along with her.
A spirit that sought to destroy her. Jaidev vowed to protect her and the spirit had other plans. It possessed her. To save her from the possession, Jaidev needed to know what she had done to incur the wrath of the spirit. But then she had no memory. To save her he needed to find her past that even she did not remember, and then time was running out.
1920 London (2016)
1920 London revolves around the married couples Veer Singh (Vishal Karwal) and Shivangi (Meera Chopra) living happily in London, who receives a gift from the Rajasthan.
From then, the troubles starts entering in their lives when Veer gets possessed. Thinking, this might be the effect of Black Magic, Shivangi asks the help to an exorcist named Jai (Sharman Joshi), from Rajasthan. Jai then vows to protect Veer from the possession.
1921 (2018)
The film starts in England 1927 with a crowd of audience waiting for a performance to begin. The host apologizes for the delay and goes backstage and furiously tells a lady called Nafeesa to call Ayush (Karan Kundra), who has locked himself in a room. They break the door down to see Ayush has slit his wrist. Then the film goes in flashback to the year 1921 when he was in Mumbai. A wealthy man discovers Ayush's incredible talents and asks him to take care of his mansion in return of which he would pay for Ayush's educational expenses. Ayush is overjoyed to hear this and heads towards his journey to the mansion. Ayush is warmly received by the both the housekeeper and the caretaker of the house. Ayush is even more delighted to enter the York college of music. Three months later, Ayush is doing some paperwork when he is hit with an onslaught of paranormal activities. He takes the help of Rose (Zarine Khan) to get rid of this problem. The struggle of Rose and Ayush to defeat this cursed spirit forms the rest of the story.
