Brea Colleen Grant (born October 16, 1981) is an American actress and writer who is best known for playing Daphne Millbrook in the NBC television series Heroes.[1]

Life and career

Grant was born in Marshall, Texas, and holds a Master's degree in American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.[2]

Her acting career started with playing Jean Binnel on Friday Night Lights, Daphne Milbrook on Heroes and Ryan Chambers on Dexter. [3]

She directed and co-wrote her first feature, an apocalyptic road trip movie called Best Friends Forever. [4] It premiered at Slamdance Film Festival in 2013. [5]

Grant also wrote and starred in the series, The Real Housewives of Horror, for Nerdist. [6] She also directed the short film, Feminist Campfire Stories, which one the Audience Award at the Women in Comedy Film Festival. [7]

Grant was nominated for a Daytime Emmy as a producer of the series, EastSiders. [8] She also acted in the show and wrote and directed an episode in Season 4.

Grant wrote and directed her second feature in 2019, a dark heist film entitled, 12 Hour Shift, starring Angela Bettis, Chloe Farnworth, David Arquette and Mick Foley. The film was shot on location in Arkansas with the production company, HCT Media. [9]

She has also seen success in the world of comics. She created a comic book miniseries called We Will Bury You with her brother Zane Grant and artist Kyle Strahm.[10] She continued her comic writing with the SuicideGirls comic miniseries, based on the pin-up website of the same name.[11]

She plays the supporting lead in the film, Something Else, which premiered at Tribeca in 2019. [12]

She runs a weekly podcast with Mallory O’Meara on the Maximum Fun network about reading and books called Reading Glasses.
