Edward J. Cowan

Edward J. Cowan FRSE born in 1944 in Edinburgh is a Scottish historian.[1] Now Emeritus Professor, formerly Professor of Scottish History at the University of Glasgow and Director of the university’s Dumfries Campus, he previously taught at the Universities of Edinburgh and Guelph, Ontario. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, He has also been a Visiting Professor in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the USA.

He lives in the Glenkens area of Kirkcudbrightshire.
