The Emirates Defence Industries Company (EDIC) is a defence products and arms manufacturer founded in 2014 in the United Arab Emirates.[2]
It is a holding company formed by merging several state-owned defence companies by the UAE government, with the intention of bundling and improving the country's defence industry.[3] The creation of EDIC has been described as a "milestone" for the domestic arms industry of the UAE.[4]
EDIC is jointly owned by the Mubadala Development Company, an investment fund of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, (60%)[5] and Tawazun Holding.[6]
