Fabrizio Cristiano De André (Italian pronunciation: [faˈbrittsjo de anˈdre]; 1940–1999) was an Italian singer-songwriter. De André recorded fourteen studio albums, plus some songs released only as singles and then reissued in anthologies.

His lyrics often address topics such as the stories of persons marginalized in society such as anarchists and sex workers, and his works have been included in various literature anthology schoolbooks since the early seventies.

He has sold 65 million records in his career, earning for himself a place amongst the most successful Italian artists.[citation needed]
