Hagerstown Speedway is a half mile Oval made out of Red Clay. Its 6 miles west of downtown Hagerstown,MD on US Route 40 . It has 5 metal grand stand section two of them being named the last name of the two people who built the track Schetrompf and Stouffer. It host local racing with Super Late Model Class, Pure Stock, Hobby Stock and Late Model Sportsman and on regional and national tour like Lucas Oil Late Model Series, ASCoC, Monster Jam, and more. But It has hosted World of Outlaws, ARCA, NASCAR and more in the past. Also in 80's a 1/20 of a mile Quarter Midget tack behind turn 2.[1]

History
Back in 1946 Stanley Schetrompf built a half mile clay oval between the banks of the Conococheague Creek and US Route 40.[2] In 1981 Frank Plessinger owned the track and transformed it into a modern circuit and made it the finest dirt track in the United States. Throughout the years, many NASCAR drivers have raced there including Cale Yarborough, Ken Schrader and Jeff Gordon.[2]
1996 Late Model Crash
During a 30 lap race a late model race Jack Bland crashed on the back stretch. He was spited when another late model (number 81) go a good launch off of turn two. It got up to Jack late model when Jack blocked him he was hocked. He went into the gap on the back stretch to allow haulers to get in and out of the track. when he slammed it the guardrail his car went into peaces on the right front corner and went into the air. he flipped while to the air and when he landed he was hit by another late model (number 70) at high speed. He had to be rescued using the jaws of life. surprisingly he only had a broken leg. Its been called the worst crash in dirt late model history. It was later put on Discovery Channel show Destroyed in Seconds.[3] They said during the end of the segment that the opening was patch it is somewhat true they only moved it to the half way point of the back stretch instead of the entry of turn 3.
