The Metlife Centre is a 28-floor, 120-metre-tall (390 ft) modernist skyscraper situated opposite the Cape Town International Convention Centre in the City Bowl area of Cape Town, South Africa. The spired antenna on the building's roof is 22 m/72 feet tall and was lifted into place by helicopter just prior to its completion in 1993.[1]The Metlife Centre is in the process of being turned into a residential building and will be renamed The Sky Hotel. Renovation begun in the start of 2020. The building is made of five different volumes put one on top of another with a progressively decreasing width on one side giving to the structure a typical "staircase" shape.
