Thuis (English: At Home) is a Belgian television soap opera, which airs on één, which is in the hands of VRT, the national broadcasting channel of the Dutch-speaking region of Belgium.

Thuis first aired on 23 December 1995, featuring Pol Goossen, Janine Bischops [nl], Merel De Vilder Robier [nl], Sally-Jane Van Horebeeck [nl], Annick Segal [nl], Monika Van Lierde [nl], Rik Andries [nl] and the late Donald Madder [nl].

Thuis grew to become Flanders' number one soap, gaining 900,000 viewers[when?] (compared to the highest rated TV show, receives 1.5 million viewers), and therefore beating competing for channel vtm's soap operas Familie (English: Family) and former series Wittekerke (English: White Church, a fictional town).[not verified in body] Thuis is currently in its 22nd season, and has aired 4,422 episodes as of 09 May 2018.

Plot

Season 11

Following a long period of doubt, Robert Swerts is discovered to be the serial killer and rapist and is arrested. Renzo Fierens is arrested for drug dealing. Dr. Geert Smeekens replaces Michael Bastiaens in the doctor's office alongside Ann De Decker. Jenny Verbeeck - Van Goethem returns from the south of France, while Eva Verbist and Nandje Reimers leaves due to Nandje's leukemia.

Season 12

Eva begins a relationship with Maarten who turns out to be just as jealous and obsessed as Jan, his brother and her late husband. He kills his mother, Mathilde, for poisoning Eva to prevent her leaving the country and for and killing his father who learned of this. Maarten also takes over the health business of Werner, his rival for Eva's affection. Femke discovers that Maarten is the culprit and warns Werner. However, Maarten restrains Eva in their home and sets it on fire so that he, Eva, and her son, Nandje, can be together in death.

Season 13

This season saw the introduction of Sonja and Ludo De Backer, Dorien's parents. Later on this season, civil law notary Peter Vlerick, played by Geert Hunaerts, will be introduced as a Bastiaens family friend. Meanwhile, Lien Van de Kelder ended her three-episode guest appearance. However, she was slated to return as Sofie Bastiaens on 21 November 2007.

At the end of last season, Kristin Arras her character Mathilde Reimers was murdered and written out. She's the only character to disappear from the main cast from season 12. The characters introduced last season and part of the main cast, but not yet of the opening titles were all added to the opening titles. These were Viktor Corthout and Sandrine Verbeelen (first individual shots in intro in episode 3 of season 13), Dorien De Backer and Youssef Bakali (first individual shots in intro in episode 4 of season 13). Daisy a supporting character in season 12 was also added to the main cast and the opening titles (first individual shot in intro in episode 4 of season 13). It wasn't quite certain if she would play a more important role this season. Surprisingly, Julia was also added to the opening titles, and had her first individual shot in the intro in episode 2 of season 13. Julia only appeared in a few episodes of season 12 and was considered a guest character. She still has to appear this season.

It was announced in early 2007 that Marie Van Goethem played by Patsy Vandermeeren, Werner Van Sevenant played by Peter Van Asbrouck, Eva Verbist played by Nathalie Wijnants and Leontien Vercammen played by Marijke Hofkens will leave onscreen in 2007.

Season 14

Eric and Martine's daughter Sofie is missing, last seen at a wedding. Her body is found and a police investigation begins. Nancy tries to reveal that Femke's new lover, Mike, is actually Femke's father. Mike tries to kill Nancy, and Femke suspects Mike is Sofie's killer. Mike stalks Femke and is fatally stabbed by Erik, who is absolved of murder. Femke later accepts an inheritance left by Mike and falls in love with Peter.

Leo makes a bad investment, defrauded by Mike, and Femke helps return the money. Dorien falls in love with classmate Jonas, threatening her marriage to Sam. Sam and Dorien move to Lanzarote to pursue her dream. Waldek falls for Kris who turns him down after a passionate weekend.

Peggy returns to have an abortion, but agrees for Ann to adopt the child. Jenny's daughter, Bianca, is to marry her young love, Tom De Decker. Tom arrives to donate a kidney to his ill mother, Marianne, and Peggy reveals that Tom is the father of her child, Sandrine. Not wishing to cause a break between Tom and Bianca, Peggy leaves. However, Bianca cancels the marriage plans and starts a relationship with Mo.

Waldek quits his job and Luc tells Rosa about the affair, so that she decides to divorce. Cois and Julia marry and depart for their honeymoon. Katrien and Paulien decide to throw a party but their father forbids it; they drug him and he falls into a coma.

Season 15

There is a custody dispute as Tom and Peggy want to keep their baby. The court decides that Ann will be Sandrine's adoptive mother.

Eddy tries to prevent Jelena's deportation by faking a marriage, but is unsuccessful. She asks Waldek to try and they fall in love. When Joery learns, he asks Eddy to kill Waldek in a car accident, but Eddy ends up hitting Mo and Bianca.

Herman, an ex-lover of Simonne, arrives with his son, Bram, who is rebellious until Herman becomes sick. Simonne falls in love with Herman, who dies. She promises Herman to take care of Bram until he is an adult, but Frank is not pleased when Bram moves in.

Season 16

Before his death, Herman tells Frank where his son Bram can find €50,000 of black-market money, but Frank keeps the money for himself. Franky and Simonne convince Frank to give Bram the money in stock, but a dispute causes Frank to change his mind and Bram stabs him. Franky claims responsibility and spends several weeks in youth prison. It is later revealed that Franky did this because he wants to be in a relationship with Bram, and Franky is disowned by his father for being gay.

Rosa distances herself from her ex-husband, Waldek, by pursuing Luc, and they become engaged. However, she feels pity for Waldek, who can't get over Jelena's death. In the end, she fails to appear at the wedding ceremony, choosing to be with Waldek.

Femke's business is almost broke. Raffael, who claims to be her half-brother, moves to Belgium and falls in love with Femke. Femke rejects him, and Raffael sets hotel Ter Smissen on fire during Rosa and Waldek's wedding party. At the same time, Luc and Freddy get into a fight over stealing Sanitechniek stock for insurance fraud; Freddy threatens to tell the police but Luc knocks him onto a table, breaking his neck.

Paulien becomes pregnant and Bram changes his mind a few times but concludes that he doesn't want to be a father and that Pauline should have an abortion. Upset, Pauline reveals to Simonne that Bram stabbed Frank, and Frank launches a raid on Bram.

Tom and Peggy buy Femke's loft, which needs renovation. They stay with Marianne though Peggy can't stand her. Later, it is revealed that Marianne paid Sanitechniek to delay the work.

Season 17

Marianne is found guilty of the Ter Smissen hotel fire and Freddy's death, and must pay a large sum to Rosa and Freddy's son.

Raffael continues his secret love affair with Femke. When Femke becomes pregnant by Peter, Raffael puts lovage in her food to cause a miscarriage. Doctor Ann informs the police, while Peter makes Femke leave and Raffael is put under psychiatric care. Peggy ends her relationship with Tom after he tried to kidnap Robin. Later, she begins dating Peter which displeases Femke and Tom. Tom begins dating his secretary, Lynn, while Femke becomes depressed and addicted to drugs.

Rosa and Jenny start a bed and breakfast, overcoming the establishment's prior image as a swingers club. Leo moves his taxi company; he falls in love with Jenny and when he tries to inform his girlfriend, Yvette, she suffers a stroke. Some time later, Yvette becomes suspicious and ends their relationship.

Fien and Jens quarrel and she leaves. Her DNA and earring are found in Guy's apartment, and Guy tells Julia that he killed Fien on an impulse. In court Tom convinces the judge that Fien died due to a hereditary heart disease, and Guy is released. Unable to forget Fien, Jens leaves.

Franky's relationship with his new boyfriend, Tibo, is in risk when Tibo learns about Frank's stabbing. They promise not to have secrets, but Tibo is hiding a fifteen-year-old daughter, Jana, who lives with her lesbian mother, Ellen. Franky is shocked but later asks Tibo to marry him, while hiding the fact that Jana is in love with Bram.

Mayra moves in with Ann and starts a jewelry business, but her inventory is stolen by Kasper, the son of Rosa and Waldek, who owes money to criminals. Marianne's husband Geert keeps inviting Mayra's father, David, and Marianne realizes she has feelings for David. Eddy returns and, after successfully hobby-brewing beer with Frank and Waldek, they buy a brewery with Geert and David as investors.

At Franky and Tibo's wedding, the gifts are stolen by Kasper. Marianna and David end up in bed where David suffers a stroke. Jana and Bram are caught together by Tibo. Simmone quarrels with a drunk Frank and is hit by a car driven by Femke, who doesn't notice.

Season 18

Kasper delivers the stolen money to the criminal organization. He finds Simmone who has brain injury. Peggy loans Kasper money to conceal the theft. Femke is interrogated by Tim, who makes a procedural error but Femke is determined to face justice. She is given a large fine and has to sell her loft. She moves in with her mother but after a conflict with Eddy she moves to Tim.

The criminal organization hides drugs in the B&B. Sandrine, believing it is sugar, is rushed to hospital. Ann withdraws Peggy's visitation rights over the incident. Later, Guy holds Sandrine, Mayra and Marianne hostage, which Peggy uses as an argument that the doctor's home is no safer.

Peggy buys pepper spray when she learns that rapist Axel has been released, and uses it on a burglar in her bistro. The burglar, Kasper, falls and dies, and Peggy decides to sell the bistro. Franky and Jens buy the building and open a trendy pub.

After Geert learns his wife Marianne slept with David he wants divorce and leaves the practice, replaced by Judith. David is fired from the brewery, which nears bankruptcy without his knowhow and is sold. David moves away though Marianne refuses to go with him. Luc is surprised at the sudden appearance of his 16-year-old son, Lowie, whose mother died. Lowie starts a relationship with Jana, who learns she is pregnant by Bram. Against her wishes, Franky gets in touch with Bram who returns, and Jana ultimately chooses to be with Bram. Lowie is taken to hospital after binge drinking and falsely claims that Franky served him alcohol at the pub. Franky and Jens receive a small fine as there was insufficient proof.

Yvette burns her hands and moves into a rest home where her roommate is Madeleine, who has amnesia and diabetes. One day Ann forgets a protocol which leads to Madeleine dying of an insulin overdose, and Ann's medical license is suspended for three months. Geert moves temporary back to the medical practice .

Eddy and Frank are installing fake merchandise and selling the real goods on the Internet. Eddy persuades Luc to continue the swindle. Among the merchandise is a boiler installed at the B&B, which causes Jana to collapse from carbon monoxide poisoning and miscarry. Eddy is arrested and Frank turns himself in, while Luc feigns ignorance. Tom tries to seduce Judith to the dismay of his former girlfriend, Lynn. Lynn tells doctor Judith that she was raped by Tom. Lynn's father claims he can save Tom if Marianne marries him, and she agrees. When Lynn learns of this she withdraws her accusation, negating the deal.

Frank and Eddy are released on conditions and want to beat Luc. Lowie is upset with Luc for lying about their past. Jana, Tibo and Bram are furious as proof comes out that Luc knew about the swindle. Everyone is together for Peter and Peggy's wedding, and as they leave the church an unconscious and injured Luc is found.

Season 19

Luc survives, and Jana, Tibo and Bram each confess to his attempted murder. Eventually, Lowie confesses and produces the weapon used. Luc does not charge his son, so Lowie is sentenced to charity work at a library. Despite a court order to stay with Luc, Lowie stays with Julia; he feels betrayed when he learns they are dating again, but reconciles when he realizes they are serious about each other. Frank and Eddy are discharged from the swindle after Luc admits to forcing their participation.

Tibo is fired after trying to suffocate Luc; he leaves with Franky, who assigns Bram to manage the pub. Later, Bram leaves the country; Jana wants to go with him but he sneaks away so she'll finish high school.

Jens begins teaching guitar to fourteen-year-old Emma, who has a crush on him. When Jens tells her he's not interested in her, Emma allows her mother to come to a wrong conclusion and have Jens arrested for pedophilia. Jens is exonerated and Emma moves in with her father.

Frank starts work at an odd-jobs company where a prank with co-workers Adil and Toon leads to his electrocution. Toon is fired and gets a job with Luc's new team-building company, then is reassigned to De Kabouters.

Tim learns Femke is pregnant. He stops her outside a wedding for an alcohol test and catches her in parole violation. Later, Femke is released, still pregnant. It is revealed that Peter is the father and he leaves his wife Peggy to move in with Femke, who delivers a son, Lucas. When Jens moves away, Paulien and Femke take over the pub.

Mayra also wants to have a child, and she and Ann convince Kurt to be a sperm donor but he changes his mind when this becomes public knowledge. Obsessed, Mayra has sex with multiple men, and one night is raped by Kurt. Waldek stops Kurt, and some days later Kurt's body is found in the river, and Waldek remembers pushing him in. Mayra finds she is pregnant by Kurt. Waldek is discharged due to lack of evidence.

Mayra and Marianne have a quarrel and fall from the stairs. Emma is kidnapped by a Facebook chat-friend, possibly Geert. Judith and Tom drive to Geert's country house, but find no trace of Geert or Emma. Peggy kidnaps Lucas at a party and heads to a lake to commit murder-suicide. Rosa and Frank discover what's going on and both drive with their car to the lake. There is a car accident but it is not known who is involved.

Season 20

Rosa has a car accident and is in coma for several weeks. Frank stops Peggy from killing herself and Lucas. Femke starts a lawsuit against Peggy but cannot prove the murder attempt. Peggy is declared non compos mentis and goes to a mental institution. Tim determines that officer Danny kidnapped Emma. Geert is discharged and wants a divorce as Marianne didn't believe him. Marianne assigns Eddy as her assistant. She accuses Geert of not helping a person in an emergency and has his medical license suspended. She offers Eddy money to beat her so she can accuse Geert of domestic violence. As Eddy refuses Marianne harms herself. Marianne goes to rehabilitation and cancels her complaint. She starts dating William. Geert begins dating Hélène who convinces him to sue Marianne for wage loss, receiving €160,000.

Lowie buys a house and rents rooms to Olivia, Paulien, Jana, Tim and Sam. Jana moves back to Frank and Simonne's after learning Lowie cheated on her. Paulien asks Adil and Lowie to pose half naked for a book's cover photo, and they agree as long as their faces aren't shown. However, Lena chooses a photo with Adil's face and persuades Paulien to give approval. Adil feels betrayed, especially when he learns the book is about homosexuality.

Peggy sells her shares in the taxi company which are bought by Femke. Jenny has a heart attack when Luc announces he sold half of his shares in Zus & Zo to Peter. Feeling she is too old Jenny sells her shares to Peggy.

Sam is pregnant and wants an abortion as she was abandoned as an infant. After a conversation with Simonne she decides to keep the baby. Sam searches her biological mother and is upset when it turns out to be Simonne. Simonne was misled by her mother Yvette De Backe when Sam was born.

Julia marries Luc and kicks him out when she learns he has been embezzling from the team-building company. Co-owners Peter and Femke blackmail Luc, threatening to inform the police unless he hands over the property and his shares. Louis determines that Luc drove Leontien off the road and is responsible for her death.

Frank and Simonne hold a 20th anniversary party. Franky returns but won't attend and has shocking news: he's divorced Tibo – and will be undergoing gender reassignment surgery. The party is a success until a video montage shows an inserted confession from Luc asking for forgiveness. Elsewhere, Luc hangs himself.

Geert marries Hélène and William convinces Marianne to marry him. Marianne reads emails on Hélène's phone and suspects she is having a secret affair with a man named Henri and is about to lose €160,000. She reveals her suspicions to Geert in front of Hélène and William. Moments later, Ann and Mayra rush in to the sound of screams and find Marianne holding a bloody knife over a dead Geert. Marianne claims Hélène is the killer but Hélène and William say it was Marianne.

Season 21

Luc survives the suicide attempt but has to learn to speak again. Frank convinces Simonne to let Yvette come back into their home. Marianne is arrested for Geert's murder. Hélène and William have a secret affair and plotted to kill Geert and Marianne to inherit all their possessions. Marianne and William temporarily move to Tuscany. Hélène claims William tried to drown her. Tom confronts William, but Marianne says that William changed his mind and they're really in love. Marianne becomes suspicious when William hides a gun in their home. Confronting him at her 70th birthday party she suffers a cardiac arrest and demands a divorce. Danny is on trial for kidnapping and sexual misbehaviour to Emma. He escapes during transport and holds Emma and Sam hostage in the De Kabouters warehouse. Toon intervenes when Danny is going to shoot Sam, and is himself shot in the lungs. Police storm in and arrest Danny, who commits suicide in jail. Lena accepts Jens' wedding proposal which she'd rejected days before. Jens runs to the taxi to give her the engagement ring but is struck by a car driven by Paulien. He dies on Christmas Day at the same time Hannah, daughter of Tim and Sam, is born.

Waldek has lost his feelings for Rosa and moves into Frank's house. Rosa and Peggy suspect Waldek has an affair with Julia, which turns out to be true. Peter and Femke become the owners of the Zus&Zo, kick out Rosa and Peggy and start a new team-building business.

Franky completes gender reassignment and wants to be addressed as Kaat. Frank can't accept Kaat and breaks contact. Toon is intrigued by Kaat until he learns she was a man. Others accept Kaat who starts working for De Withoeve. Frank tries to win back Simonne but she wants a divorce if he won't accept Kaat.

Femke buys the car from Zus & Zo, and has a collision which kills Lucas. Peggy is suspected of tampering with the car, but a drunk Eddy confesses. Eddy is sent to prison and Nancy divorces.

Lowie receives pictures of Olivia and Arne together and becomes jealous. She ends their relationship. Jessica reveals to Tamara that she's sending the pictures with Arne's cooperation. Olivia grows closer to Arne despite not reciprocating his love. At a party, he puts a date rape drug in her drinks and takes pictures whilst raping her.

Femke and Peter's wedding was cancelled due to Lucas' death, and Peter secretly arranges a new ceremony. Femke books their first customer for LEV on the same day and doesn't notice what's happening and leaves. Nancy informs her. Femke feels guilty and reorganizes the wedding.

In agreement with the new attorney at Tom's office, Hélène meets with William to record their conversations. Unaware of this, Tom thinks she is violating her bail conditions. Hélène goes missing and her body is found in William's house. Meanwhile, William tries to suffocate Marianne in her hospital room. Tom catches William but is overpowered.

Season 22

Judith knocks-out William, saving Tom and Marianne. William is arrested. Marianne and Rosa trick him, leading to a fraud investigation and the recovery of Marianne's money.

Arne starts seeing a psychiatrist and Jana, who interns there, learns that Arne drugged Olivia and tells her. Olivia confronts Arne who tries to kill himself. Jana is expelled by the university for ethics violation.

Karen, a new partner in Tom and Peter's law practice, wants to throw Peter out for losing clients. Peter resigns but sells most of his shares to Tom, giving him a majority. In revenge, Karen tries to get Eddy out of jail by saying that he was acting under Peter's orders. At the last moment, Eddy says that Karen manipulated him and does not agree to her plea. Eddy is sentenced to 5 years but is released on probation after several months.

Femke gives birth to a son, Vic. Jenny and Leo visit Bianca in Morocco, where Jenny stays to help during Bianca's pregnancy. The day Jenny returns, she has a fatal stroke. Charité starts a relationship with Renzo but is astonished when her husband - thought killed in a civil war - appears. Adam faces deportation, having entered the country illegally.

Frank comes to accept Kaat, but Simmone already concluded their marriage is over. Blaming Kaat, Frank attacks her and is stopped by Toon. Yvette confronts Frank over this during which she suffers a heart attack; she dies. Eventually Frank and Simonne move back together, Frank knowing that she had an affair with Waldek. Toon and Kaat start dating, but Toon leaves her brokenhearted with a letter saying he can't return her feelings.

Julia confronts Simonne and Waldek over their affair; they claim it ended and they never had sex, though Julia does not believe them. Julia goes missing and evidence suggests she was murdered by Waldek, who is jailed. Julia appears months later with a Goth makeover, acting like nothing happened. Waldek is released. Sam fires Frank after he has another fight with Waldek.

Tom gets Stan and Emma's help to propose to Judy. Ann and Mayra decide to marry, but a video of Mayra trying to rape Jessica is put on social media, and Ann throws Mayra out. A hearing determines they should have shared custody of Sandrine, which displeases Ann.

Sam's business is almost bankrupt and decides to do a job off the books, but the client refuses to pay since they didn't have a contract. Frank and Youssef demolish the work but are caught by the police.

Julia goes crazy, pouring boiling water over Luc and putting sleeping pills in his cookies, risking his life. Waldek is missing, shown bound, and the police suspect Eddy and Frank.

Karen's estranged brother, Kobe, arrives to tell her that their mother died. He starts working as a cook at De Withoeve. During a business lunch with Steven Lambrechts, it is revealed that Kobe is actually Karen's son and Steven is his father.

Season 23

Luc appeals to an escort but she eats a poisoned cookie and dies. Waldek is captured by Julia who threatens revenge on all who harmed her. She reveals to have killed her ex-husband. Julia sends Mayra poisoned chocolates resulting Mayra and Sandrine are being admitted to hospital. Rosa discovers evidence in Julia's cookbook and informs the police, who arrest her. Karen explains her mother raised Kobe as Steven was engaged to another woman and she didn't feel she could raise Kobe. Steven informs Karen he has ALS which Kobe may have inherited. Kobe can't handle this and starts taking drugs. Kobe blames Kaat when he is fired and tells Karen he killed Kaat. Kaat is found alive and taken to hospital. Tom and Judith marry, but the reception is a disaster. Ann is furious there's no place for her lover, Jessica, and their relationship is slighted in Marianne's speech, provoking Ann to propose marriage. Jessica breaks off the relationship, feeling that she's treated as a trophy. Ann declares that Tom and Karen are having an affair. Judith is heartbroken and leaves Tom, while Ann pressures Judith to kick Marianne out of the house. Judith wants an immediate divorce. The judge orders that they share their belongings, so a furious Judith saws their furniture in half. They sell their house which is bought by Ann. Without asking, Marianne moves in at Tom's place. Stan can convince his mother to sign papers so Tom becomes his adoption father. After a medical test, it turns out Adil his semen is of low quality so he and Paulien start an In vitro fertilization-treatment. Luc does not want to live anymore and he signs papers to get a euthanasia. His last wish is to go on a road trip with Lowie and Frank. He dies on their way to Valencia. Marianne and Leo are sure Tom spoils Stan too much. Since he moved in at Tom's house, Stan became a rude boy with many strings on his bow. When Leo confronts Stan, Stan tells him he had hoped Marianne died when she was taken into hospital. Leo cuffs his ear. Stan, feigning to have a brain concussion, convinces Tom to inform the police. Mayra gives birth to Zoë. Afraid the baby will have disability due to the poisoned cookies, she switches the newborn with another. Some weeks later she learns that their daughter died, but carries on as if nothing is wrong. After a blood test on Zoë, Waldek gets suspicious about Zoë's blood group. Doctor Judith confirms Waldek can't be the father. Mayra flees away with Zoë but loses control over the car and crashes in a ditch. Whilst still in the car, she confesses Zoë is neither her child. The car gets on fire. At same time, Leo wants to apologize Stan for hitting him. Stan pushes Leo against the wall breaking his skull. Stan leaves the house as nothing has happened. A bleeding unconscious Leo is found by Marianne and Tom.

Season 24

Leo survives the attack. Waldek is able to save Mayra and Zoë from the car. He demands her to leave so she moves to Cape Verde.

Dries starts working at the law firm, but his real intention is to sue Karin as she committed fraud in a case in which Dries his father (and many other people) should have gotten a huge amount of money which she darkened. He succeeds and she is suspended for a year.

Tamara is pregnant of Bob. When she informs him he ends their relationship as he does not want a child yet. After babysitting for Emile, a pupil in Olivia's class whose father Lander works at the taxi company, Bob realizes he does like children. He pleases Tamara to restart their relationship but she rejects.

Steven marries Rosa. As his ALS takes overhand, he commits euthanasia. Just before dying he bought a villa in Spain for Rosa and Kobe. This is noticed by tax inspection who thinks the villa was paid with dark money. They start up an investigation and all the financials of "Stevenson", the wine company of Steven and Kobe, are frozen. It turns out no fraud was committed.

Frank gets carjacked. Some weeks later he is attacked again in his home by the same person as he recognizes the gloves. Frank is shocked when those gloves are in the backpack of Emile. The police is called to interrogate Lander. Lander takes Olivia and Sandrine as hostages. Sandrine is shot by Dieter by accident and dies. He decides to stop as a police officer and reopens the pub in "De Withoeve". Olivia and Lowie become the adoptive parents until Emile pushes a pregnant Paulien from the stairs by accident. She loses the child and her uterus. She becomes depressed, stops her relationship with Adil, neglects her pub...

Judith started a relationship with Jacques, the coach of the swimming club. After a quarrel with Jacques, Judith gets some bruising on her wrists. When Judith gets some broken ribs, Ann informs Emma and Tom. Everybody is blaming Jacques for mistreating Judith. Stan claims Jacques made a sexual approach to him and thus a pedophile. Nobody understands why Judith still defends Jacques until it turns out Stan is the wrongdoer. Joren figures out he is gay and in love with Stan which seems to be mutual.

Bob starts a relationship with Kristin. Nobody likes Kristin as she is a manipulator, gossip, faked a pregnancy of Bob and also faked the abortion. She also brought Olivia more than once in discredit only to get better herself. Lowie finds out Bob is still in love with Tamara. Olivia finds out Tamara still has feelings for Bob.

Bill, the alcoholic father of Joren, wants to rejoin with him, but Joren is not impressed. One day Stan, Joren and another friend drink lots of hard liquor. Joren, who was to be at school, misses a school test. Bill finds the three who run by bicycle. Joren falls over the train rails. Bill runs upon the rails but is hit by a train and taken into hospital.

In season's finale it is insinuated Bill died. Stan tells Joren not to be gay and it was just for fun. Bob and Kristin marry. Olivia stops the ceremony and tells everyone Bob is still in love with Tamara and that Tamara just gave birth to his child. Bob wants to leave the town hall, but Kristin claims she is also pregnant.

Season 25

Bill died due to the accident with the train and Joren is in grief. The wedding is cancelled and Bob drives to the hospital to visit Tamara and his son Leoke. He does not enter the room as he overhears Tamara and Dries. Some days later he does marry Kristin due to the pregnancy. He insists to visit a doctor to be sure all is fine. It turns out she is not pregnant at all and there is even no proof in her blood she was pregnant lately. Due to this lie, Bob wants to divorce as soon as possible.

Stan quits school. Thanks to his aunt he gets a job at Stevenson. Joren also wants to quit school but at the end he decides it is better to do his last year. Kaat did not pass her exams and decides to quit.

Jacques tries to drown Stan in the swimming pool but is stopped just in time by Joren.

She found a new love with Doctor Walter De Decker. When he died Rosa inherited a valuable family jewel and a chalet in the Ardennes, causing a vendetta between Marianne and Rosa. Rosa was a hair dresser at a rented salon, which Marianne bought and evicted Rosa. Her next job was at the hotel Ter Smissen, which Marianne bought and again fired her, but Jenny hired Rosa as staff. Rosa took care of Waldek, a Polish immigrant who had a work accident, and hid him at Ter Smissen. They fell in love and married, so Waldek became a legal Belgian resident. They later adopted Kasper, an abandoned gipsy boy. The couple separated after Waldek went to bed with Kris. Rosa fell in love with Luc again but was absent at their wedding as she realized she still loved Waldek. Rosa became unemployed due to a fire in Ter Smissen and started a bed-and-breakfast together with her sister, Jenny. After Kasper's death, Waldek becomes distant in mourning. When Rosa learns Peggy abducted Femke's baby, she starts a search and is in a car accident which puts her in a coma. After she awakens, and due to ongoing quarrels between Waldek and Peggy, she decides to make more time for her marriage. When the owner of the building of the B&B sells the proprietary, it is bought by Luc Bomans. He starts a business with Femke and Peter but is obliged to sell his shares after Femke and Peter lean Luc is embezzling. Femke and Peter start up Withoeve, a label for rather expensive local produces. They force Rosa to sell the products but as she refuses she gets her notice and must leave the B&B within one year. Her marriage with Waldek ends as he in not in love with her anymore. After closure of the B&B she starts a course to become a nurse and moves to an apartment. She marries Steven who suffers ALS and dies a few months later.
Monika Van Lierde [nl] Dr. Ann De Decker 1995–1998, 2001– 1–394, 1060– After a suicide attempt, Ann dated Lou Swertvagers, but broke up with him after learning he was married to Véronique Van Sevenant. Ann returned to Lou and lived with him in Toscane. Véronique, who suffered from schizophrenia, was jealous and tried to murder them. Later, Ann lived with Jean-Pierre, her mother's former lover, before discovering she was a lesbian. She had a relationship with Manon, but Manon thought her career was more important. Afterward, she dated Sandrine Verbaelen, daughter of Geert Smeekens. While Sandrine was pregnant via artificial insemination, she died due to a brain haemorrhage. Ann still wanted a child but the same procedure failed due to her infertility. She instead adopted the child of Peggy Verbeeck, naming her Sandrine; it was then discovered the father was Tom, Ann's brother. Ann found a new love with Mayra. Ann is distracted by a phone call leading to Madeleine getting an insulin overdose, which she conceals to protect Katrien, but later comes forward and is suspended from practice for 3 months. Ann becomes depressed and Mayra temporarily moves out, sharing custody of Sandrine. Ann and Mayra split. During a hostage Sandrine gets killed.
Marleen Merckx Simonne Bomans – Backx 1995– 3– She married Frank in 1999, but planned to divorce him after learning he cheated on her with Leontien Vercammen and Veronique Van Sevenant. In 2001, Simonne suffered amnesia while she was pregnant from a rape by Luc Bomans, and moved in with him; she had an abortion as soon as she remembered what happened. In 2007 she dated Mo Fawzi, who later moved in with her. Simonne and Frank got together again after it became clear they were still in love. They worked together to help Leontien and Lowieke escape from Luc and Marie. Simonne worked as a secretary for Frank's business, after being fired from Marie Design, but the company went broke. She served in De Noorderzon, a bistro, until she was hit by a car and broke her pelvis. Peggy convinced her to take over the taxi company owned by Leo Vertonghen where she worked dispatch. Simonne was hit by a taxi driven by Femke and broke her pelvis, putting her in a wheelchair for several months. She was befriended by Sam De Witte not knowing Sam is her daughter. Simonne was told by her mother and sister her baby died shortly after birth, but it was actually placed in a convent. Leah Thys Marianne Bastiaens – De Decker – Smeekens 1995– 4– Mother to Ann and Tom. Marianne was divorced from Walter De Decker and lived on the other side of Belgium. After Walter died, she inherited his house. Marianne is a supercilious, arrogant busybody who thinks her actions are always the only correct ones. Due to her personality, she does not have many friends. She found love again with Jean-Pierre De Ruyter but their relationship ended when Leontien seduced him; she was shocked when Ann was in a relationship with Jean-Pierre afterward. Marianne found love in 2005 with Walter Frans and Robert Swerts, choosing Swerts, a lawyer who was revealed to be serial rapist and murderer. She was supported by Walter, but they broke up when she couldn't hide her jealousy of his ex, Betty Van Ginderen. Marianne then married Geert. She has a vendetta against Rosa, who received an inheritance from Walter that Marianne felt should have been hers. As revenge, Marianne bought properties where Marianne worked and had her fired or evicted. Marianne's friendship with Jenny ended when Jenny hired Rosa, and she continues to be happy when Rosa and Jenny are miserable. She and Tom tried to kidnap Robin, Tom's child with Bianca. After hotel Ter Smissen was partially destroyed in a fire, Marianne is blamed as Jenny warned her about the bad infrastructure. She falls in love with David Magiels, Mayra's father. When Geert discovers the affair he wants to divorce and quits the medical practice. Marianne tries to pay Lynn to not accuse Tom as her rapist. Angèle returned after 5 years, when Simonne demanded she visit their sick mother, Yvette. She had unreciprocated feelings for Walter Frans, then falls in love with Cois Pelckmans, Frank's best friend, initially interested in his money. He paid for her plastic surgery. Eventually she loses her job at a fitness centre and is kicked out by Simonne. She moves to Spain and later marries Cois. Several years later she divorces and returns to Belgium. She is to be said the mother of Sam Dewitte, but the mother is actually Simonne. Angèle suffers cancer, is cured, but some month later the cancer returns.
Bart Van Avermaet Waldek Kozinsky 2001– 1073– A Polish immigrant who married Rosa. They split up after Waldek had an affair with Kris (a female plumber who worked at Sanitechniek). He decided to leave Sanitechniek and became a taxi-driver at Taxi Ter Smissen. Waldek later began a relationship with Jelena but she was killed by Joeri, a frontier-runner. Waldek fell into a depression and lost his taxi job due to excessive drinking. Rosa felt pity and the two remarried. Waldek and Frank began a handyman business and invest in a brewery with Geert, David and Eddy. The businesses have some initial success, but eventually fold and Waldek starts at Taxi Leo. Waldek is a witness and stops Kurt raping Mayra. Kurt's body is later found in the river and Waldek blames himself but there is no evidence of foul play. Waldek quits Taxi Leo to avoid Peggy, who became co-owner of Zus & Zo, and starts working at Kabouters. He finds he is no longer in love with Rosa and moves out, starting a relationship with Julia.
Vanya Wellens Femke De Grote (formerly Fierens) 2002–2013, 2014– 1286– Daughter of Nancy Fierens. She started a relationship with Sam but they split. She started as a troublemaker, neglected by her drunk mother and raised in a marginal environment, then her character changed and became more helpful. After she split with Sam she started a relationship with Mike who it turned out to be her father. An inheritance from Mike allowed her to raise herself from squalor. When her tearoom faced bankruptcy she went to Spain and met Rafael who claimed to be her half-brother. They returned to Belgium and Rafael, suffering from bipolar disorder, set Rosa's pub on fire. Femke falls in love with Rafael, but he is taken into psychiatric care. Her relationship with Peter ends when he learns why Femke had a miscarriage. Femke quits De Noorderzon when she learns Peggy is dating Peter. Femke falls into a depression, addicted to codeine, and hits Simonne with her car. She faces justice and is released on conditions and has to sell her loft to pay the fine. She falls in love with Tim and moves in with him, but when she becomes pregnant by another man Tim kicks her out. After the Peter and Peggy's wedding, police stop Femke for an alcohol check, which is a parole violation. When she is released, it turns out she did not have an abortion, and Peter is revealed as the father. Peter divorces Peggy and moves in with Femke, who becomes co-owner of Taxi Leo after buying Peggy's shares in it and Luc's team-building company. Femke's son, Lucas, is killed in another car incident. Although they are very busy, Peter and Femke manage to get married after a couple failed attempts.
Ann Pira Nancy De Grote - Fierens - Van Notegem 2003– 1469– Mother of Femke. Initially, a drunk, Nancy gets her alcoholism under control. She is married to Eddy who is in jail. Nancy becomes a cleaning lady for the Bastiaens family and Rosa's pub. After the fire she started working at Sanitechniek, then the bed-and-breakfast, and Peter's lawyer's office. She is fired by Ann after she stole a prescription book and stamp but is reassigned by Marianne some time later. Later on, she is fired by Marianne after a blackmail incident, but this time reassigned by Ann. After Geert is murdered, Nancy involves herself in the private life of Ann and Marianne and is fired once again. To fill in her schedule, she becomes Lowie's cleaner. She divorces Eddy after it turns out he tampered with Peggy's car, which was sold to Femke resulting in their grandson's death. Nancy starts dating the much younger Dieter. Nancy is contacted by Eddy to search for a lawyer who can get him out of prison.
Daan Hugaert Eddy Van Noteghem 2003–2010, 2011– 1469– A drunk, married to Nancy, who was in jail for some burglaries. Eddy works at Sanitechniek. Together with Frank, Waldek, David and Geert they start brewing and selling beer, though Eddy neglects to pay taxes. When this incident is cleared, Eddy is appointed as sales manager of the brewery and quits his job at Sanitechniek. He proposes to Nancy and they buy luxury items and Nancy plans a lavish wedding. When David is fired they lack the knowhow to keep the brewery running, and sell the business. Eddy returns to Sanitechniek with personal debts, and sets up a swindle by installing fake material while selling the real goods. Frank decided to stop the swindle, so Eddy convinced Luc to continue. A fake boiler causes Jana to miscarry due to carbon monoxide poisoning, and the bankruptcy of Sanitechniek. Eddy then becomes a mailman. To earn more money, he becomes personal assistant to Marianne who broke her hip. As he refuses to beat up Marianne, who sought to frame Geert for domestic violence, she files complaints at the post office and has him fired. Months later he is hired by Peter as a technical assistant and the face for the relaunched beer 't Slurfke. He tampered with a car so that Peggy would have an accident, but it was sold to Femke and her son, Lucas, dies in an accident. Eddy is sent to prison and divorced by Nancy to divorce. He later begs Nancy to find a lawyer who can get him out of prison.
Geert Hunaerts Peter Vlerick 2007– 2255– The local notary who dated Sofie Bastiaens, they split up when Sofie discovered Peter was still married on paper (his wife refused to sign the divorce papers). He then fell in love with his secretary, Nina Oostvogels, a grandchild of Leo Vertonghen. They were about to marry but Peter discovered Nina tried to blackmail a senile woman and buy a house far below market price. Nina and her mother Dominique took revenge and ran away with the Peter's money. Peter dated Femke until he learned of her secret relationship with Rafael. He then dated and married Peggy, but still has feelings for Femke and they have an affair. Later on, Femke is pregnant and Peter divorces so they can be together. They launch De Withoeve, a label for expensive local products. As Rosa and Peggy do not want to sell these products or remodel Zus & Zo to attract upscale clientele, Peter has them thrown out for mismanagement. Peter provokes Eddy to harm Peggy, leading to Lucas' death in a car accident. Some months later Peter arranges a secret wedding with Femke, though she is so busy organizing a company event that she doesn't recognize the surprise and ignores it. After she realized what happened she makes things good and the couple marries.
Walter Moeremans Leo Vertonghen 2008– 2330– Leo is introduced as the mysterious friend of Yvette. He seems to be very rich as he drives several luxury cars, but he is the manager of a taxi company. He loses almost all his money when Mike cheats him, and is forced to sell his house to save his company. He later becomes involved with Jenny; to spend more time with her Leo sells his company to Peggy and Simonne, though he often interferes with the management.
Jeroen Lenaerts Tim Cremers 2008–2009, 2010– 2469–2645, 2735– He is member of the local police and had a relationship with Katrien. He breaks up with Katrien when she has sex with Stijn. Tim starts a new relationship with Gitta, a colleague, but this ends after Gitta was fired due to a conflict of interest. He interrogated Femke for hitting Simonne with a car, and made a procedural error which might lead to her acquittal. Femke falls in love with Tim and asks her lawyer not to use the error during the trial. Tim ends the relationship after he finds out Femke is pregnant by another man. Later on, he becomes involved with Sam De Witte and they have a baby girl. He learns Danny is the pedophile who kidnapped Emma.
Wim Stevens Tom De Decker nr. 2 2009– 2551– Tom was as student more interested in a bicycle project with his friends. He had a love affair with Sara which ended when they discovered they were related. Afterwards he fell in love with Bianca but she was more interested in Werner. After university, Tom started his own legal practice but lost his first case. He left Belgium to starts a new life overseas. (In reality, Tom De Decker was first played by Donald Madder who died in a car accident in 2000. The character returned in 2009 and played by Wim Stevens.) While he was in Toronto, he fell in love with Bianca while also secretly dating Peggy. Both Peggy and Bianca got pregnant, and they all end up in Belgium. Peggy decides to give the child away and it is adopted by Ann Dedecker. It is only then revealed that Tom is the father. Bianca leaves Tom and she starts a relationship with Mo. Bianca and Mo moved abroad with the child, Robin. Tom convinces Guy to change his testimony about the murder of Fien, convincing the judge and jury that Fien had a natural death. Tom starts a relationship with his secretary, Lynn. Lynn is fired but seduces Tom then claims she was raped, thought admits it was a lie at trial. Tom starts dating Judith. He does not trust William, the new husband of his mother, and becomes obsessed with unmasking him.
Tina Maerevoet Paulien Snackaert 2008–2012, 2013 2325–3215, 3438– She became pregnant as a teenager by Bram who did not want the child so they break up. Paulien tells Simone that it was Bram, not Franky, who stabbed Frank. She dates Rafael until she learns he is not taking his medicine. Paulien stalks Guy, who was wrongly charged of Fien's murder, until she discovers Jens is going to kill him. Following a one-year course abroad, Paulien returns and fell in love with Adil. Their relationship almost ended when Paulien used a half-naked photo of Adil for the cover of a book about homosexuality. She drove into Jens, who had suddenly jumped out of a taxi, and he dies. Paulien takes over pub, Frens, while continuing her photography job.
Katrien De Ruysscher Judith Van Santen 2013– 3266– Judith is introduced after Geert decided to quit the medical practice, though he stayed on. Judith was married to Kurt Van Damme with two children, Emma and Stan. She started dating Tom De Decker, which displeases Emma. She wrongly accused Jens of being a pedophile. She had a brief romance with Toon.
Jannes Coessens/Lennart Lemmens Stan Van Damme 2012– 3266– He is the son of Judith Van Santen. He eventually convinces his mother to let him take technical courses at school. He starts stalking Jana and steals some of her personal items but is caught; Jana forgives him. Later on he has the intention to stab Danny, who kidnapped and raped under-aged Emma. He starts dating Renée but once she goes to college she dumps him. Stan gets a psychic illness and starts harassing his mother. He also claims his swim coach is a paedophilic who touched him. He is sent to a mental institution for treatment. He makes Joren drunk who falls over the railroad. Jorens father rescues him but gets killed by the arrival train.
Matthias Vergels Lowie Bomans 2012–2016, 2017– 3275–4030, 4069–4070, 4166– Lowie is the son of Luc Bomans and Leontien Vercammen. He was once kidnapped by Frank. Luc tried to declare Leontien insane so she moved abroad with Lowie. Lowie returned as a 16-year-old boy after Leontien died. He has a short relationship with Jana, who left him for Bram. Franky told Bram that Lowie impregnated Jana. An angry Lowie tries to frame his cousin Franky for serving alcohol to minors at pub Frens, but proof was insufficient. Learning Luc is responsible for the death of Jana's unborn child and tormented his mother, he attacks Luc with wrench, but Luc survives. Lowie shuns his father until Luc starts dating Julia. Lowie becomes an architecture student. When he becomes an adult he receives an inheritance and buys a house, renting rooms to Katrien, Adil, Tim, Sam, Olivia and Jana. He begins dating Olivia who throws Jana out for having an affair with Lowie. Lowie is jealous about the friendship between Olivia and Arne, and she leaves him. Lowie wants to study in Spain and his invalid father encourages him to go. He returns earlier than planned.
Elise Roels Emma Van Damme 2012– 3266– She is the daughter of Judith Van Santen. She gets is raped by a pedophile.
An Vaderstighelen Sam De Witte 2013– 3437– She has an odd-jobs company. She starts dating Tim. Sam believed she was abandoned in a forest as a child, then found and raised by nuns. However, the convent-orphanage was a cover for women who wanted to hide their unwanted pregnancies, and Sam is upset when she learns Simonne is her real mother. She gives birth to a daughter, Hannah, which was the name Simonne originally envisioned for Sam.
Nawfel Bardad-Daidj Adil Bakkal 2013– 3444– This Turkish immigrant works at an odd-jobs company. His nickname is Aldi, referring to the discount shop. He starts dating Paulien and lives with her at Louis' house. Their relationship nearly ends when Paulien uses a half-naked photo of him for the cover of a book about homosexuality. One day, Adil falls out of a tree and breaks his cheekbone, preventing him from speaking for a time.
Moora Van Der Veken Olivia Hoefkens 2014– 3553– She is a gossip who is friends with Jana and starts dating Lowie. She lives in Lowie's house with Tim, Sam, Adil, Paulien and Jana. Thinking Lowie is jealous of her friendship with Arne and doesn't trust her, she ends their relationship. Olivia romantically rejected Arne, and does not realize he gave her date-rape drugs.
Christophe Haddad Bob Sleeckx 2015– 3845– Following a relationship with Jana, he starts one with Tamara.
Leen Dendievel Kaat Bomans (formally Franky Bomans) 2016– 3929– Franky was the son of Frank Bomans and Simonne Backx. As child he is mostly seen when playing computer games. When he turns 16 he quit school to work as an apprentice for Sanitechniek. His best friend Bram also does this. When Bram stabs Frank Bomans, Franky claims responsibility and is sent to a youth detention centre. It is later revealed that Franky is gay and in love with Bram. Bram rejects Franky and moves in with Paulien, but later mends the friendship and moves into Franky's apartment. Franky starts dating Tibo who moves in, and they get married. Losing interest in plumbing, Franky opens a pub with Jens. He and Tibo go on an American honeymoon and stay there. Later, it is revealed they divorced after Franky chose to have gender-reassignment surgery, returning as Kaat.
Tine Priem Tamara Vereken 2016 3947 She takes university classes with her best friend Jessica Engels and Olivia, who they bully. Olivia receives photos and suspects Tamara and Jessica are responsible; Tamara refutes this and they work together to learn the truth, becoming friends. Tamara is not that smart and has ongoing one-night stands. She ends her friendship after a dispute in which she disputes Jessica as taker of the photo with the clarification Jessica is in love with her and Olivia.

Mayra has sex with many strangers but only becomes pregnant during a rape by Kurt. She wants to keep the child as Kurt was her first choice, but she miscarries. She gets pregnant of Waldek. After giving birth she thinks the baby has mental retardment as Mayra got ill during pregnancy due to poisoned cholocates. She switches the baby with another newborn. Waldek finds out. He demands Mayra to go to Cape Verde and never come back.

He seduces Tamara, as revenge for what she did to Olivia, but she becomes pregnant and he pays for her abortion. He initially agrees with Frank that transgender people, like Kaat, belong in freak shows.
Joy Thielemans Jana Blomaert 2012–2017 3123–4145 Jana is the daughter of the lesbian Ellen and gay Tibo, the former paying the latter a considerable sum for the service. Although Jana is underaged, she starts dating Bram and becomes pregnant but the unborn child dies when Jana collapses from carbon monoxide poisoning. She moves into Lowie's house along with Olivia, Tim, Sam, Adil and Paulien, and starts an affair with Lowie. When Lowie confesses he cheated on Olivia, Jana has to leave and moves back with Frank and Simonne. She pretends to have an affair with Toon to make Lowie jealous. Later she becomes involved with the paranoid and autistic Bob. This relationship also ends and Jana feels neglected by her friends. She is expelled from university for ethics violation during her internship, giving personal patient information to Olivia. She leaves the country for her father's wedding and only Toon knows she does not intend to return.

He took all of Marianne's money while they were married.
Myriam Bronzwaar Julia Pelckmans - Van Capelle 2007–2016 2194–4085 She worked in a fitness centre and has two daughters, Katrien and Paulien, from a previous marriage. She dated Frank Bomans then Cois. Cois proposes and Julia initially declines, afraid of what happened in her previous marriage, but they eventually do marry. Cois later falls in love with Angèle, Simonne's sister, and divorces Julia. Julia finds a new love with Guy, but ends the relationship when he confesses to killing Fien. Later, she marries Luc Bomans, but loses trust in him and wants a divorce. She starts a relationship with Waldek but suspects him of having an affair with Simonne – which was only a sympathetic kiss. Unable to take all the betrayals, Julia fakes her death to frame Waldek for murder.
Chris Boni Yvette De Schrijver - Backx 2001–2005, 2006–2016 1071–1853, 2093–4063 Mother of Simonne, a retired pub owner with a disastrous marriage. She dates Leo Vertongen not knowing he has a relationship with Jenny. Leo was going to tell Yvette, but she suffered a stroke. When Yvette later kicked out Leo. Yvette burns her hands and goes to a rest home, where she meets Madeleine and André. It turns out Yvette conspired to take away Simonne's first child, which she claimed died shortly after birth. Told this, Simonne breaks all contact with her mother for several months. Yvette moves to the house of Lowie then to Winterlicht. Some months later Simonne takes her in. Yvette confronts Frank for attacking her transgender granddaughter, Kaat, but suffers a heart attack and dies a few days later.
Janine Bischops Jenny Verbeeck 1995– 1–1780, 1836–4037 She was first married to Frank Bomans whom she divorced for cheating. She found a new love with Dré Goedmans who supported her through breast cancer treatment. They moved to France, but Jenny returned as she couldn't adjust to the culture. Jenny was hired for the concessions of the Ter Smissen hotel and she hired her sister, Rosa, for the staff, despite owner Marianne earlier firing Rosa. This ended Marianne's friendship with Jenny. Later, Jenny helped as a taxi dispatcher for Leo, and the two develop feelings. After Ter Smissen burned down, Jenny and Rosa start a bed and breakfast. She suffers a heart attack when she learns Luc bought 50% of the shares. She goes abroad with Leo and when she returns quits her job and sells her shares to Peggy. She moves away again to help her daughter, Bianca, with her pregnancy. The day Jenny returns to Belgium she suffers a fatal heart attack.
Camilia Blereau Hélène Symons 2014–2016 3566–4026 She is the mother of Kurt Van Damme who was married to Judith Van Santen. She and Marianne compete as grandmothers for Stan and Emma. She has a secret affair with a man called Henri, who is actually William Degreef who blackmails her. Hélène is sent to jail after confessing to murdering Geert. She is set free on bail and tries to get evidence against William, though meeting him is a parole violation. Hélène goes missing and her body is found in William's apartment.
Sally-Jane Van Horenbeeck Peggy Verbeeck 1995–2000, 2002, 2006, 2008–2016 1–910, 1295, 2036–2045, 2413–4026 Daughter of Rosa. Her father was said to be Luc Bomans but was actually his brother, Frank. She had a relationship with Bennie, a drug dealer and burglar, who ended up in prison. After being together with Kristoff Verbiest, she dated Yves, a bisexual. This led to a conflict with her mother and Peggy moved to Canada. Years later she returned with an unwanted pregnancy, and decided to give the child to Ann De Decker. It turned out Tom De Decker was the father, and he also impregnated Bianca. Despite this, Peggy lives with Tom. Marianne tries to split them apart due to her vendetta with Rosa, leading to Tom cutting off contact with Marianne. Peggy ends the relationship when she learns Tom intended to kidnap Robin. Peggy falls in love with Axel, but he imprisoned for raping her. Later, when Axel is released from prison, she buys pepper spray which she uses on a burglar at the bistro. The burglar is her stepbrother, Kasper, who falls and dies from a brain injury. Peggy sells the bistro to Jens and begins driving a taxi, which is carjacked and in a collision Peggy loses her eyesight. A retina donor is found but her body rejects the transplant. She becomes depressed and attempts murder-suicide with Femke's baby. Frank stops her and the incident is covered up. Peggy sells her shares in the taxi company and buys Jenny's shares of the bed and breakfast. A new donor is found. She starts dating Renzo who leaves her after she tells him what she wanted to do with Femke's baby. By chance, Peggy meets Bennie who has turned his life around, and moves with him to Portugal.
Jelle Cleymans Jens De Belder 2008–2015 2357–3167, 3214–3569, 3620–3895 Initially, Jens dated both Katrien and Paulien, and was dumped when the women discovered this. He hates studying and left university to try to become a singer, but did not succeed. He had several jobs but always quit after some days. After being caught in a scheme, he is obliged to work at Taxi Ter Smissen and came to like the job. He dated Fien who disappeared after a quarrel, and was murdered by Guy. Jens could not accept that Guy was acquitted; he kidnapped Guy in an abandoned warehouse for some days, starved him, and tried to suffocate him with exhaust fumes. Jens left as everything reminded him of Fien. He later returned to open a pub, Frens, with Franky and starts dating the elder Lena not knowing she is Olivia's mother. Lena finds a new job overseas and Jens proposes to her. She initially rejects this but when she later agrees, Jens rushes to get the engagement ring but is fatally struck by a car driven by Paulien.
Peter Rouffaer Geert Smeekens 2006–2015 1920–3811 A boring doctor who was married to Marianne for some years. He is very conservative and is attached to his good principles. When he learns Marianne had an affair with his best friend, David, he wants to divorce and quits the medical practice. He returns when Ann is suspended. He admits he still has feelings for Marianne, so the divorce is cancelled. However, he does divorce Marianne when she accuses him of being the paedophile who kidknapped Emma. He starts dating Hélène, Judith's mother, and they marry. He is murdered, and it is revealed Hélène is the killer, in a plot with William to inherit all of Geert and Marianne's belongings.
Bert Verbeke Bram Schepers 2009–2014 2642–3245, 3310–3578 Bram originally bullied Franky but they became good friends after Franky cleared Bram of suspicion in thefts. Bram's father, Herman, dies, leaving Bram €50,000 in black market money – but Frank uses the money to buy stock in Sanitechniek as a gift for Franky. Bram accuses Simonne of withholding the money. Later Frank gives Bram the stock but Bram stabs him. Franky claims responsibility, being in love with Bram. Bram impregnates his girlfriend, Paulien, but does not want to be a teenaged father. He moves in with Franky for a time. He leaves after quarrels with Tibo but returns when he learns Jana is pregnant with his child. Bram can't handle it when she miscarries and leaves again.
Jef Hoogmartens Franky Bomans nr. 3 2011–2013 3001–3440 Franky is the son of Frank Bomans and Simonne Backx. As child he is mostly seen playing computer games. When he turns 16 he quits school and starts working for Sanitechniek with an apprenticeship contract. His best friend Bram also decides to do this. When Bram stabs Frank Bomans, Franky claims he was the offender and is sent to a youth detention centre. It later turns out Franky is gay and in love with Bram. When Franky tries to kiss Bram, Bram takes his bags and moves in with Paulien until she kicks him out. Franky and Bram renew their friendship and Bram moves back to Franky's apartment. Franky starts dating Tibo who moves in, and they get married. Disinterested in being a plumber, Franky opens a pub with Jens. He and Tibo decides to go on an American honeymoon, where they stay. Later on, it is revealed they divorced after Franky announced he wants gender reassignment surgery.
Maxime De Winne Tibo Timmermans 2011–2013 3027–3440 Tibo is Franky's boyfriend. Their relationship almost ends when Tibo learns the truth about Frank's stabbing. They promise not to have secrets from each other. However, Tibo fathered a 15-year-old daughter, Jana, who lives with her lesbian mother, Ellen, and Tibo was paid a lot of money to perform the service. Franky asks Tibo to marry him. They decide to go on an American honeymoon and stay there. Later, Tibo divorced Franky who wanted to become a woman.
Abigail Abraham Lynn Courtois 2011–2013 3041–3393 Lynn was a one-night stand of Bram's but he developed feelings and started a relationship. After a few weeks, this ended when Bram learned Lynn was still having one-night stands. Lynn studies law and interns at Tom's practice. She starts dating Tom. Due to her unlawful absenteeism she is fired. An upset Lynn seduces Tom and they have sex, then she claims he raped her. During the trial she confesses the truth.
Lotte Vannieuwenborg Katrien Snackaert 2008–2013 2325–3292 She is the sister of Paulien. She is together with Tim Cremers. Stijn seduces her and Katrien discovers she likes him more than Tim, although she does not admit this. When Stijn tells Tim he had sex with Katrien, Tim ends their relationship. Rafael convinces her to become a model. Katrien is rejected at several castings for being too fat, so she stops eating. When Julia warns Katrien who ignores the advice, until Rafael is put under psychiatric care. Katrien starts working at Winterlicht, a rest home. After Madeleine Vercauteren dies from an insulin overdose, the management accuses Katrien who administered the last injection. They make an agreement in which Katrien receives minor blame. André, another resident of Winterlicht, finds Madeleine's will, leaving Katrien all of her possessions. The police start an investigation and Katrien is arrested for murder, at which point Ann confesses her negligence in Madeleine's death. Katrien decides to work for Médecins Sans Frontières and moves abroad.
Erik Goris Guy De Herdt 2011–2012 3001–3240 Guy is a fireman and saves Nancy from a hotel fire. Nancy falls in love with him, although she is married to an imprisoned man. Guy is unhappily married to Mayra, who he learns is dating Ann De Decker. Guy is also a handyman in a rest home where he meets Fien. One day, Guy invites Fien for dinner. When Guy becomes drunk he murders Fien, thinking she is Mayra. He buries the body. After some time, he confesses to Julia what he has done. At the trial, Tom convinces the judge and jury that Fien died due to a heart failure and Guy only buried the body. Jens is upset, kidnaps Guy and tries to suffocate him. Later, Guy holds Sandrine, Mayra and Marianne hostage, but is overpowered by police and imprisoned.
Bob De Moor David Magiels 2012 3157–3255 The father of Mayra. He lives in Cape Verde and came to Belgium to visit his daughter. It turns out he is going blind and needs an operation. He starts a love affair with Marianne. He invests in a brewery with Geert, Eddy, Waldek and Frank. When Geert discovers the cheating, David ceases his activities in the brewery and moves back to Cape Verde.
Mattias Van de Vijver Kasper Kosinski 2005–2008, 2012 1910–2445, 3175–3229 Adoptive son of Rosa and Waldek. His birth name was Kazàn 'Kasper' Adayef. He was left behind by touring gypsies. He had a girlfriend, Amber Van Ginstel. However, he cheated on her with Nona Sareno. He left to work on a boat. After some years, he returned to Belgium and acted as a burglar and drug dealer to pay criminal debts. He steals all the cash gifts during the wedding party of Franky and Tibo, and gives it to the criminal organization. Kasper wants to escape, but finds an unconscious Simonne who was hit by a car. Peggy decides to lend Kasper the stolen money so Franky and Tibo won't know what happened. When Rosa learns her son is a drug dealer, she loses trust in him. Kasper steals money from De Noorderzon and wants to leave again, but Waldek convinces him to stay. Kasper tries to bring back the money but is pepper-sprayed by Peggy and falls, suffering a fatal brain injury.
Merel De Vilder Robier Bianca Bomans 1995–1999, 2000, 2006 (cameo), 2008–2011 Daughter of Frank and Jenny. She was raped by her friend Neill. Bianca fell in love with Tom De Decker but the relationship ended when she moved away. When she returned, Neill was out of prison and raped her again, but Jenny killed him. Bianca started a relationship with Werner but he was paralyzed in a motor accident. Bianca moves to Canada for eight years, then returns with Tom De Decker, pregnant with his child. When she discovers Peggy is also pregnant by Tom, Bianca ends the relationship. She falls in love with Mo. When Tom tries to get custody of their son, Robin, Bianca moves with Mo and her son to Morocco.
Josip Koninckx Franky Bomans (1) 2003–2009 Franky gets born in 1999 and was played by several different babies and children. In 2003 the role was given to Josip Koninckx. In 2008 the producers decided to give the character a major role, but as this was against Belgian law of child labour Koninckx was replaced by Braam Verreth.
Braam Verreth Franky Bomans (2) 2009–2011 Due to the law of Child Labour the original actor had to leave the cast. Braam Verreth took over the role of Franky Bomans as a sixteen-year old (despite the character's birth in 1999). He quits school and starts working at Sanitechniek. He discovers he is gay and wants to start a relationship with his best friend Bram, who rejects him. Verreth left the series due to a theatre project which he could not combine with Thuis.

Music

Season 13 had a new intro and theme tune sung by Sofie Van Moll and rock artist Peter Evrard. The new song was created by Will Tura and Steve Willaert with lyrics by Frank Dingenen, an actor who had played a guest role which he reprised at the start of season 13.[citation needed]
