Wayne County Commission
The Wayne County Commission is the legislative body for Wayne County, Michigan. It is made up of 15 commissioners elected by district every two years. Wayne County, which includes the City of Detroit, is the most populous county in Michigan with 1.8 million residents. The chief role of the commission is to adopt a budget and to enact ordinances. The commission also approves contracts, appointments and rules. The money is spent and ordinances are enforced through the administrative branch.[1] It is presided over by the Commission Chair, currently Gary Woronchak of Dearborn.
